INTRODUCTION OF Jeju ISLAND

Jeju (or Cheju) Island is a fantastic tourist destination, famous for its beautiful beaches and diverse scenery. It is the largest among thousands of islands located along the southern costal area of the Korean Peninsula and is only an hours flight from Seoul. There are other direct flights from Japan and China. The 694 sq. mile island has many extinct volcanoes, numerous rugged and rolling hills, clear-water beaches, parks, tangerine and tea farms, and fishing villages among its many attractions. Mt. Halla (1,950m high) is situated at the center of the island, and has a sparkling lake, called “BaekRokDam”, in its summit. The island is located in a semitropical belt where crops flourish practically all the year round. With a temperature range from 10 Celcius degree to 5 Celcuis Degree in Winter, 1,700 different kinds of plants from semitropical to frigid zone species naturally flourish. There are many varieties of interesting sights and recreational activities that can be enjoyed around the island, either individually or in group.

AIR TRANSPORTATION

Jeju Island is located in the southwest sea of the Korean Peninsula. It is within an hours flight from Seoul, Busan, Kwangju, or Daegu and direct flights from Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Beijing and Shanghai are also available. There are more than 35 flights a day from Seoul(Kimpo Airport) to Jeju International Airport on Korean Air(KAL) and Asiana Airlines. All international arrivals and departures are received at the lncheon International Airport. The connecting flight to Jeju is only available from Kimpo(Gimpo) Airport and you are required to travel from Incheon International Airport to Kimpo Airport by the ground transportations. It takes about 40 minutes from Incheon to Kimpo Airport. The bus stops at the front entrance of Incheon International Airport every 10 minutes and the one-way bus fare is about US$ 5. The flight time from Kimpo to Jeju Airport is approximately 50 minutes.

HOW TO GET TO JEJU ISLAND

International attendees can suppose to take one of the following four routes to get Jeju island.

1.  Incheon International Airport -> Gimpo Domestic Airport -> Jeju International Airport

2.  Incheon International Airport -> Jeju International Airport

3.  Gimhae International Airport -> Jeju International Airport

4.  Direct flight to Jeju International Airport from other country


Route 1
: Most of international attendee will take this routes 1. In order to take a domestic airline, passengers must go to Gimpo (Kimpo) International Airport by bus. It takes about 40 minutes from Incheon to Gimpo Airport. The bus stops at the front entrance of Incheon International Airport every 10 minutes. The one-way bus fare is about US$5. The flight time from Gimpo to Jeju Airport is approximately 50 minutes.


Route 2 : It is rarely found that international flights arrive at Gimpo Airport directly form other countries; it is totally depends on the airline schedule. To take routes 2, please consult with your travel agent to see if it is possible.


Route 3
: There are some direct flights to Jeju island from Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka) and China (Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong). Please consult with your travel agent for detailed information.


Route 4
: There are some direct flights to Jeju island from Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka) and China (Beijing). Please consult with your travel agent for detailed information.
